Nashville vs. Chicago: The Rivalry Continues.

The Nashville Predators have been interchangeable at the Goalie position all season long. The all-star Pekka Rinne hasn’t been playing at his very best lately for the Predators. Carter Hutton was given his first start at Bridgestone Arena where he earned his first shut out and gave the Predators their 20th win of the season.

Where will things go from there?

You can expect Hutton to start again Tuesday versus the Blackhawks. Getting a win over their arch nemesis in Nashville would be huge for the Predators and its fans. These two teams met in a back-to-back showdown in December and both teams split the series. In both games, the losing team only managed to score one goal. In the first meeting, Nashville outshot Chicago 37-24. The only goal for the Predators was scored by Eric Nystrom.

In game two, Nashville was outshot 36-34 at Bridgestone, however they had a solid game shooting. James Neal scored two goals and his teammates Nystrom, Craig Smith, and Filip Forsberg scored the other three goals to seal the deal over their rivals. The emotion showed for the golden boys who wanted to get rid of the bitter taste in their mouth from the loss the night before.

“Nobody felt good about it, and I think that showed tonight by the way we took the ice,” Nashville coach Peter Laviolette said.

The Predators faced the Blackhawks again on January 12th. They suffered a one point loss in Chicago. The Predators, of course, are looking to tie the series at 2 a peice in Nashville tomorrow night. This is a Nashville team that started the season with seven wins and only three losses. Nashville looks to build off the impressive shut out over Minnesota to get their season back on track.
