They’re back. After starting the season slowly, they have defeated some pretty hot teams in their impressive 8-0-4 run to reach 78 points. A HUGE 78 points puts them ahead of rivals and gives them hope for the playoffs.
The Nashville Predators played a great game in Colorado on Gameday Saturday. The golden boys used the dagger on the Avalanche in the third period, secured a much needed 5-2 win, and set a franchise record with 12 straight games receiving at least a point.
“At this time of the season, that’s probably as close to a playoff game as you’re going to get,” Weber said via ESPN. “It’s good the guys responded.”
It feels good to win, of course, but making a rival’s postseason chances smaller is fantastic. That’s what their immense win over Colorado did.
“We knew what we were in for,” Predators coach Peter Laviolette said via ESPN. “A good team win tonight, in a playoff-type atmosphere.”
Around this time last season, the Predators were one of the teams to beat in the NHL, but after clinching a playoff berth, Nashville went on an unfortunate losing streak, ending the season 47-25-10.
Are the Predators back to their winning ways? Yes. There are a lot of reasons why Smashville should be excited. The Predators chose the perfect time to rejuvenate themselves.
