In between the great mountains of east Tennessee lies a city. A city known for its food, growth, and of course, the big orange country. Knoxville, Tennessee is home to the big orange country, which never ceases to amaze anyone with their loyalty. Their dedication is the epitome of what a fanbase should look like.
And their basketball team resembled that.
Despite an inconsistent season, they never gave up. They ended up surprising the nation by taking down the Wildcats. They managed to push through two games in the SEC Tournament, before having their success halted by LSU.
Most of their success came because of two seniors who deserves as much recognition as they can get.
Kevin Punter was a second team selection to the AP All SEC Team. He averaged 22.2 points per game this season, which lead the team, and had previously earned second-team All-SEC acclaim from the league’s head coaches last week, according to sources.
Another senior, Armani Moore, was an honorable mention. Moore started in 33 games this season and ranked second on the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game. He led the Volunteers in rebounding with 7.6 per game, assists with 4.1 per game, steals with 1.2 per game, and blocks with 1.6 per game.
